THE LMa5

The LMa5, the “LMaS Five”, are the five attributes and characteristics that we know are essential for your academic and wider success:

  • Attendance: you learn best when you are in the classroom with your teacher;
  • Punctuality: when you are late you miss vital minutes of learning, and these gaps quickly accumulate;
  • Directed Study: completing written work outside of lessons consolidates and secures your learning inside lessons;
  • Conduct: you meeting our expectations helps ensure that every LMaStudent achieves, belongs and thrives here;
  • Rewards: you can make positive contributions to the LMaS community in many different ways, and they will be recognised and celebrated.

We track these numerically, and report them to you and your parents and carers alongside your academic progress.

If you are not successfully meeting our expectations in one or more of these areas, we will address this with you and discuss with you what support you need to improve. We want you to succeed and leave LMaS with powerful outcomes, personal strengths and many and meaningful choices, but you have to want to succeed as well: the LMa5 give you an ‘early warning’ if you are putting that at risk.
